Riverstories: Archaeology & Storytelling Club for Children and Families
6 Weekend or Holiday Sessions, from October Half Term to February.
Sessions are aimed at Key Stage 2 (ages 7-11) children and their parents/carers.
Riverstories is a new club for children (and their parents or carers) who would like to learn about the story of the City alongside the River Thames.
Starting with a search for archaeological treasures alongside the river, you will learn more about the history of London and the stories of people in the distant past.
Riverstories will connect families with the rich archaeology of the Thames, developing children’s sense of place, time and identity.
Participants will develop their skills and confidence to create and share their own stories, bringing new voices to reshape and retell archaeological stories.
Riverstories will be based on the Iron Age archaeology of the Thames in West London (Barn Elms, Putney, Fulham).
You will take part in guided walks, object-based sessions, and virtual reality experiences, learn new craft skills and create objects that you can take home and explore history through storytelling workshops.
The project will consist of 6 day-long workshops, scheduled over 6 months:
• Sunday 22nd October, 1PM-3:30PM (Walk along the Thames foreshore in Putney)
• Monday 23rd October, 10AM-3PM (Fulham Palace Education Centre)
• Sunday 12th November, (Local Venue, TBC)
• Saturday 9th December, (Local Venue, TBC)
• Friday 5th January, (Fulham Palace Education Centre)
• Sunday 11th February, (Local Venue, TBC)
Where activities are taking place in Fulham, supported travel will be provided. Lunch and refreshments will be provided throughout.
If you sign up to the club, you would be expected to try to attend all sessions. Children must be supervised by a parent/carer.

Remarkable Rhythm at Polka Theatre
Join us a Polka Theatre for Remarkable Rhythm – a dance theatre show for young people 7-12 and their families!
One bench, two people, and five days.
Through music, movement, and mishap, two young people experience the difficulty and joy in connecting with those unlike themselves.
Rhythm is spontaneous and experiences life as movement; and all sound as music. Glas loves life smooth and stable; preferring things remain the same. When Rhythm and Glas meet at Bellevue Park they have the five days of half-term to see if their friendship is worth keeping, before they go back to their separate schools.
Will they find a way to create something remarkable and discover a rhythm that is theirs alone?
Remarkable Rhythm is a dance theatre show for young people 7-12 and their families. With integrated audio description by the two dancers, this show is accessible to audiences who are blind or partially sighted and the physical storyline is visually clear so allows D/deaf audiences the ability to also experience every show fully.
This show takes place in the Adventure Theatre. The Adventure Theatre is a mix of unreserved bench and floor seating, where children are highly encouraged to sit on the floor to be closer to the action.
*You will need to meet us at POLKA THEATRE between 2:00-2.15PM to collect your tickets. You MUST be seated before the start of the performance at 2.30PM. The show will last approximately 1 hour.*
Age Suggestion: 7-12 years

Medusa’s First Kiss at Little Angel Theatre
Medusa has just started at Olympus High. Look, there’s sports star Atlas out on the field, Aphrodite cheerleading from the side, goth Persephone hanging out by the school gates and don’t forget mysterious school-witch Circe… Maybe this is the school where Medusa will finally learn how to fit in. But soon enough she’s out with the gods, as mean girl Athena writes a load of nasty words on her locker and even her own snakes-for-hair decide to give her the cold shoulder. She’s on her own.
Will she ever find friends, let alone love? And who will help her along the way? themselves.
Through playful knitted puppetry and electrifying punk rock music from Holly Mallett (Moxy in CBBC’s Andy & The Band) and P Burton-Morgan (In The Willows, Little Mermaid, Jungle Book) this brand new musical of self-acceptance and friendship is brought thrillingly to life. Percy Jackson meets Heartstopper, with rock songs.
Age guidance: 10+
Medusa’s First Kiss is aimed at everyone over 10. Our shows for older children are challenging, and explore ideas that are relevant to them and to all of us – we don’t give an upper age because we are recommending the show for young people and adults too. These shows can be less suitable for children under the given ages for many reasons, including more mature themes, complexity of language and narrative, and subject matter or scenes that some may find scary or upsetting. We appreciate that everyone is different and age ranges can only be a rough guide, so it’s most important that you read all the guidance before booking for the child you would be bringing.
Visually, the show does not contain anything likely to be troubling (unless you are afraid of snakes!). However, the characters are young people at secondary school exploring emotions and relationships, including romantic relationships. The story deals with bullying, including online bullying. There is a scene where girls talk and sing about dealing with unwanted attention. Another song touches on adult relationships when Hera / the school counsellor sings about her marriage to Zeus.
There are some references to sexual orientation and gender identity. The character of Circe uses they / them pronouns and one of the snakes says they identify as non-binary.

After two films of true friendship and relentless flirting, Poppy (Anna Kendrick) and Branch (Justin Timberlake) are now officially, finally, a couple (#broppy)! As they grow closer, Poppy discovers that Branch has a secret past. He was once part of her favorite boyband phenomenon, BroZone, with his four brothers: Floyd (Golden Globe nominated electropop sensation Troye Sivan), John Dory (Eric André; Sing 2), Spruce (Grammy winner Daveed Diggs; Hamilton) and Clay (Grammy winner Kid Cudi; Don’t Look Up). BroZone disbanded when Branch was still a baby, as did the family, and Branch hasn’t seen his brothers since.
But when Branch’s bro Floyd is kidnapped for his musical talents by a pair of nefarious pop-star villains—Velvet (Emmy winner Amy Schumer; Trainwreck) and Veneer (Grammy winner and Tony nominee Andrew Rannells; The Book of Mormon)—Branch and Poppy embark on a harrowing and emotional journey to reunite the other brothers and rescue Floyd from a fate even worse than pop-culture obscurity.
