Kanika has a Masters in Management from the London School of Economics and is a certified professional. She holds a variety of leadership roles across EY and is a key sponsor for diversity and inclusiveness initiatives within the financial services industry.

Jonnie has been closely associated with Nova for over 20 years and was its Chair until 2 years ago, when he formally retired as deputy CEO of Westway Development Trust. His work for the Trust included working with migrant and refugee communities in K&C to help develop their voluntary services through joint projects, consortia, fundraising and support over the longer term. He is currently engaged part-time as a business & project development consultant with Surrey Docks Farm and remains a trustee of several charities in Kensington and Chelsea.

Shirley Wakelin joined the trustee team in October 2011 and became Chair in 2016. She has some 20 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry, including a variety of leadership roles across sales, marketing and general management. Having worked in the UK, Greece and Australia, and from global headquarters in Switzerland and the UK, Shirley has a sound understanding of complex organisational systems and working with culturally diverse and cross-functional matrix teams. Shirley now supports young leaders as they are promoted into more senior roles.

Stewart McCure

Stewart McCure is Founding Director of Dramatic Change, a global marketing and sales training consultancy. He holds degrees in Business (Marketing & Advertising) and Arts (English & Australian Literature) and is the author of The Two Minute Window, a highly successful book on pharmaceutical selling. Born in rural Australia, Stewart has been a West London resident for fifteen years. He joined the Nova New Opportunities Board of Trustees of in 2006 and was Chair from 2011 until 2013. He remains a Trustee.
Gladys Jusu-SheriffTrustee
Gladys is a refugee who arrived in the UK in 1997 fleeing from a rebel war in her home country of Sierra Leone. Gladys has substantial experience working in the voluntary and community sector. She leads a women’s charity, WAND UK, formed by a group of West African women who had experience of a similar organisation in their own countries of women helping women to become agents for their own change.
She holds a BA degree from the university of Durham and an Msc from Columbia University, New York. She is a retired academic librarian and archivist.
