Volunteering

Volunteers are at the heart of our organisation and have been a vital element since NOVA was established in 1983.

We have a strong tradition of encouraging learners and users to develop themselves as volunteers within NOVA and progressing to further education and paid employment.

More than half of our paid staff are former volunteers and 75% of our volunteers are former learners.

Over 50% of our volunteers from 09/10 are now in employment, so we have an excellent track record of engaging people as learners, moving them on to voluntary and then paid positions.

  • Administration: filing, using the database and creating documents
