About us

NOVA is a voluntary organisation established in 1983 to help individuals and communities improve their computer skills. NOVA began in a church basement premises in Lancaster Road and moved on to our office and classrooms in Canalside House. We have concentrated on training those who have missed out on learning new technologies and helping them into work and further training / education.

NOVA has always had a technical focus - first courses were in photography - however we soon developed into IT (i.e. word processing). We focused on offering free courses for unemployed people delivered in a warm and friendly environment. We have now expanded our services to include Numeracy, Literacy, ESOL, Advice & Guidance into work, help with CVs, Job Ready courses and accredited IT training.

Originally we were registered as a sub-committee of the Notting Hill Social Council. NOVA is now a registered charity in its own right – charity registration no. 1118890.
